Did you marry someone you did not love?

I am so double minded about this relationship. I am looking at 60 in the face and the man I have been dating for a year has been a bachelor for a long time. My husband ped on nearly three years ago. The man I am seeing considers himself a realist but tends toward the pessimistic side of life. I care a lot about him and have tried to look past the eccentricities and to try and be more realistic about life in general. He still works and I am retired; cirstances have put distance between us so it's hard to see each other often. I believe he really loves me. My emotional side wants to pursue this relationship, but the "other" part wants to run. He sees life as a rough road with a few smooth spots along the way. My life has always been good with a few rough spots along the way. If we did marry I would be faithful to the end. As for love, I had the love of my life and he's gone. How did things turn out for you?
