What is a fibre in carbon fibre reinforced plastic?

Fibers are long chains of molecules like hair or thread. Specifically in carbon fiber, the actual fibers are long chains of molecules that use carbon as a base for the molecule. Reinforced plastic is simply plastic resin that poured as liquid onto threads. When the liquid turns solid, the threads are inside of the hardened plastic creating a stiffer and stronger plastic.
