As the Mayor of DC, Marion Barry was convicted for cocain possession and use then spent 6 months in Federal?

prison. After his release he was elected to the DC city council and then elected once again as the DC Mayor. Barry has been married and divorced 4 times and was accused by 3 of those wives of infidelity, drunkenness and continued drug abuse. Currently he is serving again as a city councilman on the DC city council. It seems that no one residing in this Nation's Capitol is concerned about this morally bankrupt politician. Can anyone explain why they are now so concerned about a Governor or Senator having one(1) illicit affair? This doesn't compute in my mind.
